Our Process

  1. 1

    Choose your route

Workcation (remote work or freelance) and Thai soft-power activities use different supporting documents. Family members of DTV holders follow a separate dependent checklist.

  2. 2

    Prepare your documents

Gather passport, photo, location evidence, 500,000 THB financial proof, and the contract, portfolio, or activity confirmation that matches your route.

  3. 3

    Submit your application

Apply through the Thai e-Visa system or as directed by the embassy or consulate handling your jurisdiction.

  4. 4

    Receive your DTV

Processing times vary by mission. Your DTV is issued as directed by the consular officer (e.g. sticker in passport or e-visa confirmation).

  5. 5

    Enter Thailand

The DTV is a multiple-entry visa with 5-year validity; each entry allows a stay of up to 180 days (confirm conditions on your approval).

  6. 6

    Optional: extend your stay

You may apply for an extension at an immigration office in Thailand where permitted by current Immigration rules.

The Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) supports people who want to stay in Thailand longer while working remotely from abroad, taking part in eligible Thai cultural or training activities, or joining an approved family member.

Official requirements are published on the Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) page on the Thailand e-Visa site, including separate document lists for workcation, soft-power activities, and dependents. Missions may add local requirements, so the embassy or consulate where you apply has the final word.

Visa Siam helps you map your situation to the correct category, assemble documents, and submit a complete application the first time.
