Our Process

  1. 1

    Enroll in a program

Obtain an official acceptance or enrollment letter from a Thai school, university, or language institute.

  2. 2

    Prepare documents

Gather your enrollment letter, financial proof, and all supporting documents.

  3. 3

Apply for your Non-Immigrant ED visa

Apply at a Thai embassy or consulate in your home country before arriving.

  4. 4

    Stay compliant after arrival

Follow Immigration rules for your stay (including extensions while you study, and 90-day address reporting when it applies to your visa type).

  5. 5

    Extend within Thailand

The ED visa can typically be extended at an immigration office as long as you remain enrolled.

The Non-Immigrant ED visa is issued to students enrolled in accredited Thai educational programs. This includes university degree programs, Thai language courses, Muay Thai training, Buddhist study, traditional massage certification, and many other disciplines.

For many people, studying in Thailand is also a pathway to longer stays. As long as you remain enrolled in an approved program, your visa can be renewed annually inside Thailand.

Visa Siam works with a network of reputable schools and can help coordinate enrollment letters alongside your visa application.
